Feladatok: Staff Nurses are responsible for assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care to individual residents in their care. The role of the Staff nurse is to provide care to residents in accordance with the national nursing home standards and the standards for nurses working with older people (An Bord Altranais, 2009). Staff nurses report directly to the Assistant Director of Nursing (Nurse in Charge in her absence) on a day to day basis and are accountable to the Person in Charge for all issues related to the assessment, planning delivery and evaluation of care of individual residents. They are accountable to the Person in Charge and Registered Provider for the provision of safe and effective nursing care to residents in compliance with national nursing home regulations and standards. Staff nurses are also accountable to An Bord Altranais for their professional conduct and maintenance of competence in accordance with their role.The responsibilities of Staff nurses are:Assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care to residents assigned to their team.Responding appropriately and in a timely manner where a resident's condition deteriorates.Ensuring that referrals to allied healthcare professionals for individual residents are made in timely manner in accordance with each residents changing needs.Liaison with any allied healthcare professional involved in a resident's care to ensure a collaborative approach to care planning; safe handover of information and continuity of care for residents.Maintenance of current, factual and accurate assessments and care plans for residents.Daily monitoring and review of residents care and condition and documenting of same in residents' care plans and daily notes.Compliance with professional codes and guidance documents issued by An Bord Altranais.Maintenance of competence in all areas of assessment and care planning for residents.Initial and ongoing risk assessment of residents' disease diagnosis, care, treatments and condition and documenting of same.Ensuring that equipment in use for caring for residents is in good working order and reporting any concerns to the Person in Charge. This includes all manual handling equipment and aids; mattresses, beds and bedrails.
